Live In South Africa

First off we played for the New Concept Mining workforce out in the south of Jo'burg. More than 100 workers were already crowded together on the factory floor when we arrived, so there was some panic to get ready and play. Phil Maxton introduced us and we played a short set of four songs acoustically. They probably couldn't hear anything, but we put on a bit of a show anyway.   After that, off to the Apartheid Museum, which was very interesting to see. There was so much of it that we didn't have time to look at everything. Kind of depressing……   Went to the Portuguese Fish Market and ate a good dinner there again, this time with the Maxtons. After that we played at Back2Basix with the Hip Replacements. Two sets, one short, after which the Hips played a fairly long set and we followed that with 15 songs or so. Got home about 1:00 am and sat in the kitchen dissecting the day, which was so full of different impressions. Great to finally get the first proper gig under our belts.     Först spelade vi för det nya konceptet Mining arbetskraft i södra Jo'burg. Fler än 100 anställda var trångt redan tillsammans på fabriksgolvet när vi kom, så det fanns en viss panik att få klar och spela. Phil Maxton presenterade oss och vi spelade en kort uppsättning med fyra låtar akustiskt. De antagligen kunde inte höra någonting, men vi sätter på lite av en show ändå.  Efter det, bort till Apartheid Museum, vilket var mycket intressant att se. Det var så mycket av det som vi inte hade tid att titta på allt. Typ av deprimerande ... ...  Gick till den portugisiska fiskmarknaden och åt en god middag där igen, denna gång med Maxtons. Efter att vi spelade på Back2Basix med Hip Replacements. Två set, ett kort, varefter Hips spelat en ganska lång upp och vi följde med 15 låtar eller så. Kom hem ca 1:00 och satt i köket dissekera den dagen, som var så full av olika intryck. Kul att äntligen få den första riktiga spelningen under svångremmen.       Phil
